APPOINTMENT TECH I

Salary: DOE / Hourly Location: San Diego, CA
Type: Part-Time
Responsibilities:
Answers telephone in a pleasant and professional manner.
Assists patients by providing information or directing them to the appropriate area.
Schedules patient appointments, pre-screening patients for eligibility for financial assistance programs and preparing them to bring payment or documentation.
Registers patients and screens for eligibility for financial assistance programs.
Ensures all patient information is held in confidence.
Enters patient data into computer system accurately.
Confirms next days' appointments.
Reschedules canceled or no show appointments.
Makes reminder/recall notifications via telephone/letter to inform patients of due/late services
Will record on progress note number of attempts made to contact patient and/or if letter was sent.
Responsible for attending all staff training activities related to appointment scheduling
Meets individual and team performance goals
Performs as instructed on resolution of escalated procedural and technical issues
Familiar with Telephone Center Disaster Recovery plan and participates in periodic testing and restoration of service.
Demonstrates ability to use multi-line/switch board telephones, the Phone Tree IVR and other business equipment.
Ensures schedules are maximized to increase productivity


Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent desired.
Possession of Medical Assistant certification desired.
Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
Knowledge of medical terminology and front office procedures preferred.
Up to three years customer service experience desired.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
