This blog is presented by Educational Daycare, and here's a little bit about them in their own words:
"In business since 1986, Educational Playcare is renowned throughout the state for our award-winning childcare program and curriculum. Meeting National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) guidelines, Educational Playcare offers programs for children from infancy through kindergarten. In addition to such childcare and nursery school programs in Connecticut, our services additionally include kindergarten enrichment, before and after school programs, and summer camp.
What makes Educational Playcare stand out is our curriculum. Based on developmental stage rather than age, our curriculum received the Early Childhood News Award and Director's Choice Recognition and incorporates themes for science, mathematics, creative art, language, and literacy. For infants, toddlers, and 2 year olds, our staff bases the programs on Creative Curriculum Objectives; for preschool-age children, we use the Connecticut Preschool Performance Standards. In addition to the knowledge aspect, our curriculum covers social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative skills development.
Offering more than just daycare services, Educational Playcare strives to enrich each family's experience, lessen the burden of working parents, provide services that integrate them into the care-giving process, and offer programs in a safe, nurturing environment. Currently, our programs, including childcare, extracurricular activities, and enrichment opportunities, are available at all five locations: Avon, Farmington, Simsbury, Wallingford, and Windsor."
